Walking Dead – Undead

Experiencing the fullness of life that Christ desires for you will not happen without your effort and determination. Recognizing the need to change isn’t enough. You will not be the passive recipient of life’s fullness. It just won’t happen! You must take steps and make moves in your life that will bring about the needed change. God will help in that effort, but you have to act!

Scriptures

John 10:10; Proverbs 6:10-11; Proverbs 22:13; Romans 12:18; Colossians 3:23; 1 Corinthians 6:20; Luke 16:10; John 3:16; Malachi 1:10-11

Verse

You sleep a little; you take a nap. You fold your hands and lie down to rest. So you will be as poor as if you had been robbed; you will have as little as if you had been held up.  Proverbs 6:10-11

Thought

Apathy is the great immobilizer! When we start postponing our responsibilities, making excuses, and blaming others for what we need to be doing, no good will come of it. This can happen in our relationships, our jobs, our health, our finances, and in our relationship with God. God expects and deserves no less that our very best! Anything less is unacceptable!

Questions

In what areas of your life are you giving your best? In what areas are you giving far less than your best? Is there a relationship that you need to mend? Do you need a new outlook and attitude at work? Are you caring for your physical, mental and spiritual health as God intended? Do you need to work on your finances? And, what about the level of effort you are giving to your relationship with God? Is it your best, or less than he deserves?

Response

Get your priorities in order. If you are giving your best to some things that  don’t really matter, make the needed changes! If you have allowed apathy to creep into some areas of your life that deserve far more than you are giving, determine to act in those areas and make them better!

Prayer

God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for sending your son to die for my sins. Because of him I can receive forgiveness and I have your strength available to help and guide me in every area of life. You deserve my best; help me to give it! I want you to be proud that I’m your child! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
