Motherhood is not for the faint of heart! Being a mom is a struggle of balancing time and priorities and realizing you can’t do it all. There’s a lot of guilt for moms who often feel they fall short of the “supermom” expectation that the world imposes. The fact is: there are no perfect moms! The key to success is focusing on the ultimate reward… not the immediate struggles. Moms, you get to make a difference in your children’s lives and in their eternity. God chose you to be the mother of those children. Your children need you, your guidance, protection, encouragement, and most of all your love! God has entrusted you with this awesome task and he promises to be with you every step of the way. He will show you the right way when you put your trust in him (Pr 3:5-6).

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

We long to love and be loved in a meaningful way; it is foundational to our emotional development. Our first experience with love, a mother’s love, affects us for a lifetime. The power of a Godly mother’s love and influence marks eternity for future generations.

Express your appreciation to your mother by telling her how much her love and influence mean to you or write her a letter. Even if she has gone to be with Jesus, you can write down your thoughts and thank God for the impact she has had and continues to have on your life. If you have or had a strained relationship with your mom, focus on those things that you can cherish.

Jesus, thank you for your endless love! Thank you for mothers and for the investment they make in the lives of their children! Thank you for a mother’s love, which surely is a glimpse of you, Lord!
