Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,… after all of Solomon’s research, study and observation, he gives this sage advice to the younger generation. Solomon recognized that being young is wonderful. He believed that every youthful moment should be lived to its fullest because he knew what we all will eventually know—getting old brings with it heartache, trouble and worry, along with a body that is aging. He advises the young to live every moment to its fullest, but not to forget God, because we will all give an account to him.

Scriptures
Ecc 12:1; Ecc 11:9-10; Jer 29:11

Verses
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them.”(Ecc 12:1) Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. (Ecc 11:9)

Thought
Youth is the time to explore and discover your gifts, try new things…different things. It’s the time to learn what you like and what you don’t like. While you are young you have great freedom and few responsibilities. Leave the worries and stress for old age. But choose wisely. Stay away from people and activities that will lead to trouble. Live knowing that you are accountable to God for everything, so have fun and be smart! It’s exciting for those who accept Christ early in life and have all the best and most productive years to serve Him. Faith in Jesus provides a solid foundation for everything ahead. God deserves our first, our best, and our all!

Questions
What advice would you give your younger self if you could go back in time with the knowledge you now have? What would you say to your younger self about God? Who are the young people in your life that you can influence for Jesus Christ?

Response
If you are young, heed Solomon’s advice; enjoy life! Give your life to Christ and he will walk with you through all the great and happy times, as well as the times that are tough. If you are older, use your influence to guide the young people in your life toward God. He has great things in store!

Prayer
Lord, use my life for your glory. May I devote each beautiful day of life to you. Allow me to influence others for your kingdom. You are my hope and joy and life! Thank you for loving me! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
